PEEK™ PEEK™ polymer is the brand name of a high performance thermoplastic made by Victrex. The unique
combination of properties, including ease of processing, means PEEK™ polymer is used in a wide range of
applications - from aerospace and automotive to the medical and electrical/electronics industries.
Chemical Resistance
Since PEEK™ polymer is semi-crystalline, it is insoluble in all common solvents and has excellent resistance to a
very wide range of organic and inorganic liquids.
High Temperature Performance
It has a UL746B rating of 500°F (260°C) for RTI. Excellent mechanical properties are retained at temperatures up to 572°F
(300°C).
Flammability
PEEK™ polymer has a UL V-0 flammability rating down to 0.057in. (1.45mm) without the use of additives.
Hydrolysis Resistance
PEEK™ polymer can be used for thousands of hours at temperatures in excess of 482°F (250°C) in steam
or high pressure water environments without any significant degradation in properties.
Radiation Resistance
The resistance of PEEK™ polymer to gamma radiation at high dose levels is exceptional.

PEEK™ is available in film from .001" to .010". Custom sheets are available in sizes .030" to .090"
The aerospace industry requires construction materials which are light in weight, have excellent physical and thermal
characteristics, and reduce the hazard to passengers and crew in the event of a fire. PEEK™ polymer, a polyaryletherketone
resin, is increasingly used in the aerospace industry as a replacement for metal components, because it combines
all these characteristics with easy processability. Although there are many PEEK™
polymer applications in the aerospace industry, a broad overview may be obtained by considering in-engine,
aircraft exterior and aircraft interior components.

The FDA has published a regulation for the use of PEEK™ polymer in repeated use food contact applications.
This opens up significant new windows of opportunity for equipment manufacturers serving the food processing and catering
industries to maximize component performance and value. Food contact use is a further demonstration of the
quality and intrinsic purity of this unique material.
